THE BANKER AWARDS BKT AS "THE BANK OF THE YEAR IN ALBANIA FOR 2019” FOR THE TENTH TIME
Tirana, Albania (28 November 2019) – Banka Kombëtare Tregtare (BKT) was selected as "The Bank of the Year in Albania for 2019” by "The Banker", the world’s premier banking and finance resource, providing global financial intelligence since 1926. The awards gala dinner Regarded as the industry standard for banking excellence, was held in London on November 28th, 2019.
During his acceptance speech Mr Mehmet Usta, chairman of BKT, stated: “To say that I am delighted and honored to receive this award on behalf of BKT, for the tenth time from “The Banker”, would be an understatement. When we receive an award like this, it makes us reflect on our long journey and our achievements. Together, we overcame every problem and challenges which have now become the milestones for us. I sincerely thank all the internal and external stakeholders who are directly or indirectly involved in the making and functioning of our company.”
Mr Seyhan Pencablıgil, added that: “This award is a token to BKT’s staff for all the efforts they put in and all the motivation and trust that they show towards us. Without them we wouldn’t be standing here, holding this bracket. BKT will continue its efforts towards digitalization and financial inclusion and we look forward to also being the role model about referring our customers towards alternative banking channels. By having this award in our cabin, we all would be more self-motivated for doing our best. This is a token of our past efforts and also a push factor for our future endeavors.”
“Bank of the year in Albania” award by “The Banker”, is the fourth accolade for 2019. “Global Finance”, “Euromoney” and “EMEA Finance” together with “The Banker” have all acknowledged BKT as “The Best Bank in Albania”, while “JCR Eurasia” reaffirmed its evaluation of AAA (Alb) on Long Term National Credit Rating.
Established in 1925 BKT is the largest and the oldest commercial Bank in Albania. With a total asset value of 4.1 billion USD and total deposits of 3.2 billion USD, BKT serves its customers through a network of 92 branches, out of which 67 are located in Albania and 26 in Kosovo.
