Memorize and keep your PIN safe. You should change it every time you suspect that someone might have discovered or copied. PIN can be easily changed anytime at BKT ATMs
Setting the PIN in ATM terminals cannot be done by someone else but you;
If you need to use an ATM in a foreign country or another bank ATM use ATMs located near banks or supermarkets where other people are around and the area is well-lit.
If you notice anything out of the ordinary (suspicious devices, cameras or people) do not withdraw money, but come back later or use another ATM and also notify BKT for the event.
If someone offers to help you use the ATM refuse him to see/touch your card or ATM meanwhile you are using it.
When typing in your PIN cover the keypad so others can’t see.
After completing your transaction remember to remove your card, cash and any printed documents such as receipts or statements so others do cannot see the amount withdrawn or balance of your account.
Put your money and the ATM card away before you leave the ATM. Always avoid showing your cash.
If your card is lost or stolen call BKT at 042 266 288 in order to block it immediately.
Do not let other people use your cards – keep them in a safe and regularly check that your cards are OK.
During the time you’re making a payment, make sure to have your card visible all the time;
Never use your Card or PIN in ATM/ POS/ INTERNET terminals that look suspicious;
If you have doubts that your card or your card information has been stolen, contact BKT immediately on 042 266 288.
For internet purchases, make sure the page you are doing the transaction is certified SSL, https:// instead of http://;
Check constantly your account balance through ATM or “Internet” Branch, BKT Smart or IVR.
Passwords and codes should be kept secret – they shouldn’t be written down or given to other people to use, nor should they be given out over the phone or in email. Make sure no-one can see you when you enter passwords or PINs. Passwords should be well-chosen so as not to be easily guessable, avoiding standard personal info such as: birthdays, your name or your relatives name etc.
Never provide confidential or personal data by electronic mail or by any other means, even if the request is made by an apparently legitimate source.
Do not access, through links, any sites that require you to provide personal or confidential/ sensitive information or allow you to carry out banking transactions. Always type in the full address of the site that you want to access in the respective bar.
Do not open electronic mail messages without checking the identity of the sender and the subject. If you have any doubts as to the origin of the message delete it immediately and don't open any file or attachment it may contain.
Do not perform any banking transaction on computers open to public access. Some different type of hacking programs enables hackers to access your account details and personal information through computers which are open to public access.
Keep the devices you use to access online banking well secured – ensure that any devices (tablet, smartphone, PC, laptop etc.) used to access online banks are kept updated with the latest security patches. This includes security software such as anti-malware and firewalls. Don’t run any pirated software. Lock your devices with a passcode, and make sure you log off when you’re done with an online banking session.
Report any incidents or anything suspect to the bank – tell BKT promptly if you think anything is amiss, and then follow their instructions.
If you are a user of Mobile Banking Application:
Activate your mobile device’s code lock (PIN LOCK, or similar options)
Don’t save your access data such as PIN (personal identification number), OTP (One Time Password), Transaction Authentication Number (TAN), Personal Access Number (PAN) etc. on your mobile device, and always cover the device so no-one can see them when you enter them
Only use the most up-to-date system version of your mobile device IOS/ Android
If possible, use up-to-date virus protection software and a personal firewall
After having completed your transaction please click the secure exit button and close your Internet Browser/ Mobile Banking Application.
For safe use of our applications, we recommend not to use rooted/jailbroken devices that have broken the manufacturer's warranty.
